Do you know that Stephen Colbert has a rivalry with Korean pop singer Rain (Bi)?

It's true. It all started when TIME magazine released its "Your TIME 100" poll, and Stephen came in number 2 in the popularity charts. Number 1 was... Rain.

This was one of Colbert's better side sketches last year. Very, very clever!

It is so unexpected for any major American TV personality to say ANYTHING about Asia or Asian culture (except for the regular drumbeat of China scare mongering) that I think it probably caught many of us by surprise. With tongue firmly planted in cheek, Colbert managed to expose more Americans to contemporary Korea than any other source, wouldn't you agree?
