JguyUSguy 3.0 is coming soon

We just wanna say a big YOROSHIKU ONEGAISHIMASU to those of you who who joined years ago and continue to support the community today.

And we're happy to announce that we're going to continue as long as you all want to continue this, into the foreseeable future.

The downsized world economy has put pressures on the vendors we've relied on for off-the-shelf community web applications from Groupee/Eve and Userplane. Both have had to make changes to adapt. As a result, the JguyUSguy community risks homelessness if we don't make a move soon.

We have some rough plans. But, for the moment, I just want to say YOROSHIKU and direct you to a few pages where you may be able to follow where we're trending. See below.

There are economic pressures on us, too! Note that we may have to make the next community a complete pay-for-access kind of arrangement. But I assure you that premium members, and in fact everyone else, will be assisted in the migration with care. There will be generous trial periods, lower costs than now, and multiple payment options.

The focus in the future will be Groups and Blogs as well as instant messaging with audio and video. More detail to come. For now...

The changes...
All members should be able to access and use private messaging now. And you should be able to create photo albums in any forum.

Login is now required to access personals boards and discussion forums now. We had some complaints that search engines were indexing members' email addresses. Now Google can't access your posts, so feel free to post anything.

People who aren't logged don't get to see very much. They can see the topic titles listed on the top page of each forum. They can also enter "Guest chat," browse the discussion forum that has threads about the community and see the member directory.

We still need to be careful not to waste bandwidth. Please PLEASE don't post toooo many photos in a single sitting. If you have some really nice photos, of course you can post a few of them. But please don't upload your entire hard drive to the JguyUSguy community. … Thanks in advance…
